Congo tetras food?

I am getting bored of feeding my Congo Tetras flakes. Are there other foods that are readily available besides bug bites that work? Cant I feed them fruit And veggies? If so, what kind? Would they eat live worms or mealworms? What do you feed your Congo tetras?

My serpaes eat bloodworms, scuds, brine shrimp, and mysis along with my puffers, I’d imagine it’s similar for Congos. Most tetras will eat anything. Not sure if they are much of vegetarians, so they may not take to the fruits and veggies, but definitely bugs and worms.

I’ve fed them dried Mysis Shrimp, Bloodworms, and frozen brine shrimp. Anything else? What are scuds?

Congos eat everything, but I believe a diet high in little inverts does them best (frozen mysids, bloodworm, brine shrimp). Best plan is to rotate high quality flake with frozen foods. But they will just about everything thrown at them!

But what is healthy for them? They will probably eat veggies, but what is healthy for them?

I absolutely agree with both Deadeye and F FJB and my Congo eat small pellets as well in rotation with flake, freeze dried mysis shrimp. What was stated is healthy for them.

Freshwater amphipods. They are essentially tiny shrimp, very easy to breed.

If I am not mistaken Congos do not eat much plant matter as opposed to other tetras. I would agree with the others that small crustaceans are the best for diet

I feed my Tetras, NLS Thera +A. This garlic laced food seems to bring out the colors quite well.
Omega One small grain Cichlid pellets round out their diet.
