so bac to the topic on how rare this is? its funny cause i made this post like just another casual post, i didnt really think it was rare at all, i thought i was going to get someone saying "oh i see that all the time puh" so how rare is this? my husband almost knocked me over to go see when i told him. my daughters tank sucks, maybe they would have made it in a better tank. She has a pink mermaid tank that ive been trying to sell on craigslist. I want to get her a 5.5 gallon regular rectangle tank with hood and really good filtration.
 
its a mutation in the genes that could have been caused because of low gene pool, interbreeding etc. In guppies alot of them have random tumors and nasty things because of that.
 
No, it is not genetic. It is by chance that a fertilized egg will partly divide. Conjoined twins do not run in families or strains. It is like the soda machine giving you two sodas for the price of one. Oops, but it's not happening again anytime soon.
