Stores I frequent....Exotic Superpet in East Hartford, Aquatic Wildlife in Manchester, Animal City and Nor East Wet Pets both in Vernon.

Ditto, i float between manchester and CCSU in new britain. I've got a 55g mbuna, 40g with a lone urophthalmus, 20g community, 2g planted.

I also go to west hartford puppy center and fintastic in rocky hill. Love wet pets, and err i work at petco on the weekends.

I go to petco/petsmart quite often...just for supplies though (no livestock)....most smaller lfs will rob you blind on supplies. For example the Aquaclear 110 is $89.99 at Exotic, and Animal City. But $63.99 at petsmart/petco.

hey im Drew i live in Killingworth CT down on the shoreline near Clinton an Madison. I just have a 45 gal hex., a 40 breeder, a 55 gal, 1 10 gal, and a 20 gal, yet only one has fish. my 45 hex has 2 firemouths, 1 common pleco, 3 cory cats and 3 pristella tetras. My 3 petstores are petco which i never go to, Guppies to puppies in Old Saybrook, and the best fish/reptile store in the world, Go Fish! In my 40 gal and 55 i have 2 bearded dragons, and when i get another 10 gal i will set up my 20.(i need 2 tanks for my lizards when i go on vacation. P.S. give Go Fish a visit, the people know there stuff on reptiles and fish it is also a cool store, located on Boston Post Road in front of Stop and Shop in Clinton. Welcome to CT, the natives here are awwsome you should look into them.

I also go to west hartford puppy center
It's a hit and miss w/oddballs there. They usually get fish that outgrew their tanks. i.e. RTC,TSN,Aros,
I go to Aquatic wildlife in manchester, exotic in east hartford and emmons in simsbury.
Any Dats or payaras in those places?

Not really. I've seen both at Aquatic Wildlife, but only once or twice in the past few years. If you ask for Derek, he can order anything for you (usually). I've never seen either at the other two places.

Haha, except the internet beats them both. Recently i picked up an emp400 online for $40 shipped vs. $80 at petco, thats too much even with employee discount.

Yea...the west hartford shop is always disappointing to go into. Their tanks are a mess, too many deads, and the fish seem more neglected as you work your way to the back of the store. Plus their biggest tanks are 75 gallons. Last time was there they had a 16"+ silver arrow in with a big rtc, unacceptable. But it seems like they are expanding to about double the space, so i can hope for improvements. But they sell puppies...:screwy::banhim: ....which is why i dont buy anything there.

Noreast wet pets has to be the best shop around IMO. Everything is in top shape, all separate tanks. Fair prices and i can go in there for an hour just to chat.

Its not that kind of shop, i'm sure they can order anything though. The are probably 50/50 salt/fresh...perhaps even a little more salt. When i say best shop i'm talking about quality, cleanliness, and staff. But they do have a massive (3'+ and thick) green moray that i'm sure is monster enough.

Shops like waterbury aquarium and west hartford may have monsters but the shop sucks on many levels. OR even aquatic wildlife where they have that tank of rays/gars...cool but their prices are intensely high. And they tried to sell a coworker of mine a ray for her 55g community tank, eek. Exotic in east hartford is the only shop with a monster tank/pond. But one look at their reptile section will have you out the door.
