Connecting a UV sterilizer to an FX5 question?

So I have yet another issue:
I dont know if the diagram above will work out. Thanks for the diagram I brought it with me when I bought all the stuff but the way my tank is set-up and really can't do this very easy. I want this set-up soon and this way won't really help me to well after all. I think I'll return all the things I bought and try
a different route.
I heard that I can by a powerhead to connect the 18w sterilizer to the tank.
I think this will be a better way. Could anyone suggest a good powerhead for the said uv sterilizer (18w, coralife)?
I think this way will be better that way I can leave my FX5 alone. So I can anyone help me in chooseing a good powerhead?
 
Why won't that diagram work for you? Need specifics
 
Using powerhead is aweful. You are gonna have to clean the UV steriliser often or find some way to attach a prefilter.

Using a canister filter is great as the canister serves to remove all the debris before water is passed though the UV

I want more info about UV sterilizer where can i read?
