Pretty excited my young cons spawned. Noticed the little batch earlier as they bred between a rock and sponge filter. Now I can grow out my own and spread across my tanks.

The very first cichlid to spawn in my care was a pair of black convicts. That was in 1982. Very exciting time. Never conceived such a small fish could be so homicidal
In my ignorance, I had a pair of cons, a JD and a brasiliensis in a 3’ 46 gal tank. Talk about a recipe for disaster

Congrats on bonus new fish day! But, come on this is as inevitable as the sun rising tomorrow morning, Lol.
I have nanolutea in like 12 tanks currently. I keep tossing in fry expecting they’ll be eaten but it’s amazing how many make it only to grow, pair off, and spawn there too.
I'll let these guys grow out some and spread them out through my tanks
The mighty convict the only fish that will spawn in the toilet before you can flush lol. Seriously though congratulations !!
