Considering a venture into Cichlid keeping - help planning an aggressive community

It's not offensive, just silly. It's like you are getting this mix of fish to watch them all die.

Well aren't you a ray of sunshine. I don't believe any fish keeper on this forum buys fish to watch them die. As I've mentioned, if and when I notice an unhealthy amount of aggression, the fish will be placed in another tank. While I appreciate your warning about the future behavior of my cichlids, the last comment contributed nothing but unnecessary negativity.

Well, how is this progressing? Having fun constantly rotating stock and / or removing scaleless cadavers?

Yeah, definitely underestimated the FH. He killed the Texas within the first 2 weeks, and the beani shortly after. Just him and the pollini right now. Every night I come home and see both fish alive I'm surprised. I guess it's only am matter of time before the FH goes Highlander on him and decides that there can be only one.

Well what happened with this plan?-

Seems like you still have time to rehome either the fh or the pollini. Unless (like I said a month ago) you like watching them die....

Yeah, the Pollini will probably have to go in a 40 breeder once my 240 is set up. He's actually much prettier than I thought he would be. Still too early to tell if the FH is going to be anything special in regards to his quality, but I certainly enjoy his personality... aside from his penchant for murder that is.

Well, he turned on the Pollini. I got him out before it got worse than some damaged fins, but man these things are psychotic. Thursday night, they both swam up to the top to eat like they always do; last night, I come home and the Pollini looks like he got into a fight with a weed wacker. Looks like this is now just the FH's tank.

My FH won't let me anywhere near the inside of his tank without attacking me. Always wondered when I started why most people keep them with bare bottom tanks. I soon found out lol. Mean suckers!

Tried a pleco awhile back with the FH..That didnt go over well...Pleco had to be moved.
