So I've got to the point where I have big mono's and temensis in one tank. A tank full of baby orino's and a 6" kelberi, pinima and orino divided in the piranha tank. I started thinking I would like to keep asian arowana's and sting rays. Really want a group of aro's and a pair of motoro ray's.

I figured I could sell the big cichla and get some arowana with the money.
I don't know whether to get three or four green or rtg asian aro's and sell all my cichla (maybe keep the orino's) or get one aro and keep a few of my cichla.

It's a hard decision because I love my cichla but I would also love a group of asian arowana with rays.

don't get rid of your cichla.. you will find yourself coming right back to the game and spending money all over again... weed some out, keep your favorites.. nothing wrong with aros, rays and a few bass.

Your right. It will be expensive to replace the cichla I have now. It might even be impossible to get kelberi and pinima again if I sell up.
I've just sold my two big monos which was sad, but they did go to a 7x4x2 tank which is a bonus. Just got the tems to sell now.

My bass are about 6". I'm thinking of getting one or a few arowana's at 4-6". I'm not so worried about compatability it's mainly space I'm worried about. When all the fish are 8" I want to get a motoro or a pair of them.
To be honest I'd love to keep 3 or 4 asian arowana with two rays and I wouldn't have room to do this with the bass. However after seeing your tank Chaitika it does make it hard to part with my cichla.

Well if you want motoros, you'll need to upgrade tanks anyways, unless your 7 footer is 3 feet front to back?

I will be building an 8x3x2 in a year maybe two years time when I move out. How quickly do motoro's grow? I'll be buying them at 6". Also do you know if I can keep two asian arowana's together if they are put together in a 6x2x2 at about 6"? Thanks for your help.
