Henward there won't be any chloramine in the water when they test it because the chloramine comes from the chlorine "evaporating" and reacting with organic matter in the water (fish waste, etc). Would be interesting to get a sample from the jardinis tank that you've been experimenting with tested to see what the chloramine level is.

yeah, fair enough
but i figured, to be on the safe side, i would treat the water every 2 to 3 days to prevent any build up. but still eliminating the need for big manual water changes. but treatment can be less than usual as there really isnt much in there anyways.

i dont know how to test for chloramine though

I'm not sure either, but it would be interesting to find out. If your jar hasn't had any dechlorinator in the apst 6 months I find it hard to believe that it would eventually build up to a harmful level.

yeah thats wht i figured
if the concentration on the mains tap water is a certain amount, then it would no build up to anymore - it would only stay that oncentration due to regular water changes.

see how i go anyways, i think i might set it up for that system anyways. i can change methods of changing water later, the set up remains the same none the less.

getting greg to ome and drill holes on 2 8 footers.
and when i set them up, i will get all of my other tanks drilled too

no, no sumps at all
just canister
trying to minimise my cost :)
my 6 footer with the rtg currently has a sump, so i will have to put the overflow on the sump to drain
but the others just on the tank
i have found the fittings to use, hansen fittings, seems durable and good. and cheap:D oh yes
but greg said he will help me reinforce the holes or something
