Well I started construction of the Stand as advised. it is oversized and I think overbuilt but hey why not. I think I could park a MACK truck on it the way I built it. The Legs are 4X4's and the frame is 2X4's they are in the T shape and screwed to the legs. the tops of the T's are screwed every 4"s and there is a crossmember also T'ed in the Middle. the Dimentions of the Stand are 36"tall by 32" deep by 48" long and is covered with a 3/4" plywood top. I didnt have a holesaw so I have to Borrow one tommorow to drill the holes for the bulkheads that come out of the bottom of the tank. The Stand is alot deaper than the tank but thats on purpose. it has 12" that will be infront of the tank to put trinkets on. something to make the Aquarium join the feel of the season. any thaughts and comments are appreciated I would add pics as I have a couple but I havent figured out how to yet if anyone can help on that I will add the pics on here for your enjoyment.

Then you want to brace the legs at the bottom or it could get wobbly. Even if it doesn't seem wobbly if someone were to fall into it, each leg becomes a single point of failure having to take all the stress on to itself. That tank probably weight's around 200lbs empty, then add 1100-1200lbs in water plus gravel or sand if you use it and anything else youmight want to put in the tank.
OK so slight change of plans I will be adding a bottom brace on the stand to tie the legs together. I weighed the tank and its about 550Lb add in 1500Lb water and 100Lb sand then I am up to 2150Lb. I am told the tank was a custom built Jobit looks really professional as the top an bottom frames are plastic but look like one fiece units.
I Got into trouble this AM with my GF yesterday I went and bought a pump as noted above. well this AM my GF informed me she got me one as a gift I have no special events coming up to deserve one so I didnt expect it so I guess I will be taking the one I just bought back.
wow 550lbs empty! That thing must be a beast. I was geusstimating based on the 350lbs dry weight of my 220gal.
I measured the glass and it appears to be 18 or 19MM thick so based on all I can find its 5MM thicker than necassary. but my oh my is it ever heavy.
