Construction of my 300L wood pond

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the inside dimensions of the pond section is 100cm x 82cm x 42cm (water level at a estimated 39cm would make is a 319L aproximatley 82 U.S Gal

the "plannend" filter section at the back of the pond is
100cm x 200cm x 39cm makin it aprox. 62L 16 U.S Gal

I'm still giving this built in filter some time to roll around in my head...

will update as soon as it stops rolling around... :nilly:

Thank you Midnight the fact that you replied first is funny as it's your little brown pond that inspired this one of mine

yes im putting a pond liner in there...(kinda stole the idea from you previos pond)(hope you dont mind:confused: )

I've read in your new pond thread that you also thought of how to get the inside of the filter sealed with pond liner...that's where i'm stuck at the moment...coz i dont want to spend a fortune on this i'm just gonna have to make a plan

you might be able to drill a hole in the wall between filter and pond, more to one side up high "water level",put a screen of some sort over the hole, then just use a pump to pump it out of filter.
also search here for pond armor i think it is "someone else can tell you more about that".
if it would work for you and you went with pond armor you could put a wall or 2 in the filter to keep different media in.
these are just ideas,i just come up with them so there not tested and approved LOL

i've already got the overflow and the returns planned out that is not the problem(nothing a little silicone and stainless steel wood screws cant cure)

my real problem comes with wraping at least 3 diffrent compartment with one continous piece of liner(i can see alot more cuts and silicone coming here)

as for the pond armour...that stuff looks really good... that would sort any pond out in no time...the problem i've got tought is being from S.A to me that $80 for the pond armour turns into R 800 over here...considering i've spent about R 90 on screws, wood fill and exterior varnish and would probably spend another R 350 on liner, pump,pluming,etc...it just does not warrent such a "make life easy" product:( :(

but thanks for the input...
