Construction Of My Altum Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Love the setup (very clever) and the angels!!

One question though, how tall is your 75 gallon? Our standard 75's over here I would think would be much too short for adult altums ... though I realize yours have much time to grow yet.

darth pike- Thanks. Our 75's are 55cm or 22" tall. By the time they start getting to their adult sizes I might look at putting them in one of my taller tanks.

I've kept Altums in a standard 75g for over 4 years with no problems. Kept them with Heckel Discus. The Hecks and the Altums grew to about the same size over that period.

Rev and Prudence-Thanks for the compliments. Will be adding some more pics this weekend.

"As for biomedia, I opted for a Taiwan classic when filling large sumps and trickle filters, large round brushes. These have great surface area, you can fit many in together, the metal doesn't rust and has an added bonus that it keeps itself pretty much as clean as needed to work well, i.e. doen't clog. This is the brush, each measuring about 48cm long by 13-14cm "

we used these inside koi pond Filters... not bad but we mounted them up and down not laying like some ppl think... GL and nice fish... are thoses plants going to sink or stay like that?
