Controlling Hair Algae in the Pond

Good answers Dr. Joe and waterboy (y). Prevention is the best method of controlling it. I mean, I dont have a monster pond or anything, but understanding the concept of balance between bioload, plants and filtration will create minimal algae. You cant stop it, but I never get hair algae, just some algae in the Spring, but I scrub and clean that ***** very well in Spring. It is normal from my experience. Nothing huge though. A UV sterlizer works great, buy one thats rates 1.5 times of your pond size and you will have no problems, providing you keep the pond tip top clean.
