Agree with ya… “good” people will always suffer from the majority and governments ignorance. Easier to exploit money from a potential problem than solve it.
I hunt legally and ethically, and I would argue that I give a great deal back, far and beyond merely through licence fees. When I look at the time/money/effort I spend on improving my land for wildlife, encouraging and nurturing the natural ecosystem...all the while listening to the dummies who claim I do it only so that I will have deer to shoot...it gets tiresome.
Ask one of those self-righteous hypocrites sometime just how much time they have devoted or volunteered towards conservation projects...or even, for that matter, something as simple as how much money they spent on bird seed in the past year...and you often elicit that blank-faced stare which means the answer is "none".
By the way, those people who hunt illegally...are more accurately referred to as "poachers".
I gave back to the environment twice today and I'm a better man for it.
As long as you're collecting and selling ethically an xlnt solution would be to quit listening to detractors. There will always be a goofball close enough that doesn't use their tongue for good. Life is better when you tune out the clowns.
I believe it was Mr. Jimmy Buffett that said his father was losing his hearing but it didn't matter because the old boot didn't care what most had to say anyway. I'd bet a nickel he could hear pretty good.
Yeah, it's not like I'm doing that boat with large net stuff. Just whenever I randomly catch a fish on a pole on one of my fishing trips. Then I'll see what it's worth and if I legally have to throw it back or not.
