Does anyone own one? I have the option of getting cage+bird for free..

And ive been looking into them for a while.. was going to go with a dusky though this would be a sun im getting sorta like an adoption plus I know the guy.

input on conures!

Of course you need the special nectar-like food for them. I think they need a normal sized cage for a bird of their size. They make big messes too.

why do you need special nectar-like food? they're not hummingbirds or lories

it's probably on pellets, or if not seeds.
one thing, they're really noisy and loud. be prepared

not that this helps that much, but I've recently been looking at them too (except green-cheeks as they are 1/2-3/4 the price), conures are capable of talking, but as this isn't the norm, and therefore shouldn't be expected.
The ones i've held seem to love to "play" as they have minidumbells in their cage, as well as plastic keys that they seem to enjoy. From what I have seen, they can be noisy, and sometimes continue it untill you give them the attention they want. Also, obviously keep them away from any extreme heat/cold source, many years back my sister lost a parakeet that way.
Sorry I couldnt be of more help, however free is an unbeatable price if you can correctly take care of it. Good luck and I hope someone who has one sees this and can give you more info then myself.

Oh, I was thinking lories......my bad. For some reason I get the two mixed up, no clue why.

why is it free by the way? are you sure it's not a diseased or dying bird?

unannon; green-cheeks tend to be the most playful and filled with personality!
