Converting 125gl to plants

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The carbo block is worthless, if you decide to dose with Flourish, you have to dose the full line of their products, and on a 125 that can get expensive. As far as lighting goes your best bets for a tank that size are T5 lighting or MH.

A pair of these would do the trick http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/prod/204838/product.web and would put you around 2.5 wpg

Pressurized CO2 is the way to go, you can get a reliable setup for around $300, and have it fully automated with a solenoid and PH controller (CO2 will lower your PH)

Lighting and CO2 will depend alot on your plant choice.

http://freshwateraquariumplants.com/index.html Go though this site and put together a list of plants, post em here. Once you have your plant selection down, then we can determine what you need as far as lighting and CO2

Best website for planted aquariums: http://www.barrreport.com/

It would be worth it to put a 3-4" bed of Flouite or Eco-complete under your gravel, 10lbs won't do a thing for you, you'll need at least 100.
