Converting salt to fresh

Be very careful with this stuff. It can be extremely dangerous.

You should be able to scrape it all off pretty easily - especially once it's been sitting in the freshwater for a while. It would just scrub what you can and set it up. Considering the vinegar, I'd fill it up and drain a couple times then start it up and cycle.

I just changed over a 200g reef and I filled/drained a couple times and made sure I got a zero salt reading. Doesn't really matter, though. Most fish will tolerate and maybe even enjoy a tiny bit of salt in the water.
