Since ive got less than a year under my belt keeping Natives, I would appreciate any input as to how you converted yours to taking pellets and whats your favorite brand and why?? I have just been humoring them with various freeze dried, and frozen, and think its time they kicked that habit for at least the bulk of their intake.

Well lo-and-behold...after my post i went to LFS bought a small container of Omega One small pellet, super color formula, and put a small ammount in each of my tanks. To my surprise about 98 percent of the fish accepted it immediately, the rest spit it out a few times but then swallowed it :WHOA:. I never knew... but i guess if all i got was steak, it would be tough to get me to eat a bologna sandwich. Any way..never mind i guess, i had never tried this cause they just ate all the frozen and freeze dried i threw in.

What kind of natives do you have? Most sunfishes seem to take pellets without a problem. For picky natives, sunfish and otherwise I have had success with HBH SuperSoft and Tetra Jumbomin sticks.

I have obesus, florida dollars, blue spot, 1 nice orange spot, warmouth, shadow bass, somthing unknown (sunfish) pretty small yet im thinkin bluegil) blackbanded sunfish, about 10 Darters. i had tried them once before on pellets, they didnt approve, but this time they seem to be taking them fine execpt the black banded which i cant get to take anything but bloodworms. Am currently looking for more orange spots just a couple. and any kewl darters i can come across.

those fish are awesome you need to get up some pics of them
