I have a breeding pair of cons in a 10gal. They had fry little over two weeks ago laid eggs again tonight. The problem i have is the babies that are still in there range from about 1/4" to 3/8" and the parents are letting them eat the eggs. I was wondering if this is normal and at what point will they run them off and have more fry.

well most fish will eat eggs, only thing im curious about is ussualy when they have a new batch the parents would actually kill the exsisting babies, no its not a problem though just gotta wait till u can move the exsisting babies and let them breed happily again.....

Thats what i was concerned about that they were going to kill the babies. O well i guess they had a good snack.:grinno: My male con had started to get a hump in the last two days i didnt think it was going to be very long before they spawned. I guess ill hace to wait another two weeks.

My cons breed every 3 weeks or so, and they always eat the babies before they breed again. I try to take the babies out after 2 weeks. Thats pretty strange they let the babies eat the eggs :WHOA:

Everything was the same when i left for work but when i got home there were bodies everywhere.:( I guess they got tired of the babies afterall. So ive moved as many as i can still some in there i cant get. Hopefully they can hold out until i can get them.
