That might become a war zone, given the tank size. Once they've settled in, it would probably be wise to keep the dom. male and female and find a new home for the other two. You might be ok, but 4 cons in a 30 sounds tricky.

Sorry, no experience with internal filters. Good luck with the new pickups!
yeah once i get the first pair established the other 2 are lunch

ha, thats pretty good eats!!

Guys I never had convicts and was thinking of doing the same for feeders...I was wondering are Convicts caring parents, or do you have to remove the fry asap? I think I read on the thread the someone was moving them a couple weeks after hatch, but just want to make sure. Thanks!

The first two batches of fry I had were in my tank with the parents for about six weeks and the adults took good care of the fry. my cons were in a 10g growout at the time, so even in tight quarters, they were fine.

Problems arose when the third set of eggs was dropped, as the second group of fry were still in the tank. The fry began to eat the next gen and the adults were apparently divided over this. Long story short, male bites females tail off, all fry/eggs removed, tail grows back, cons continue to be good parents in roomy 55g.
