ok, sorry to change the subject, im just a little curious as to why my arn't doing there job.

Are you sure you have a pair? If you do have a male and female then there's the small possibility that they're not compatible or just not mature enough to start breeding

oh they're paired up, and i've checked many times, i have a male and a female. and i think they might have sparked after the move

i hope mine breed. im getting 3 pairs from a local breeder and im putting them in a 30g tank. i will be so mad if they dont breed. im using the baby fry for feeders im tired of buying nasty goldfish.

lol make sure they have room too because i had a pair in a 10g and they never bred and the female ended up being murdered. luckily the male lived and now has a wifey and there first batch of babies are on the way

I had 5(2m3f) for a few months and only got two unfertile batches from one pair =\
Before I got those 5, I had 1 different male and found free swimming fry a week after i put the female in...
depends on how lucky/unlucky u are with the cons u get i guess :O

A 10 gallon tank is a little small for a pair. They would do much better in a bigger tank (at least 20-long preferrably). You have to remember that a male can grow to about 5 inches (female smaller) and though gallon-wise a 10 gallon is enough, the foot print does not provide very much real estate. Plus once you throw the fry in, you will be badly overstocked. If you want the most of the fry to survive, place a filter media sock over the intake of the filter, you'd be surprised just how many get sucked up (if you have a HOB).

Have fun. You're in for a lot of broods.
