convict breeding

in my experience just expect some battered fins, your other fish should learn pretty quickly not to go near but it might not be so easy for them to avoid in a 3'..
 
i would put them in their own tank but the problem is i only have a big tank. will get some smaller tanks later on
 
ok this is kinda crazy but i was thinking if i dont find a tank for the fry and i breed the convicts in my big tank with divider can i raise the fry in my sump and put a sponge over my pump intake so the fry wont get sucked up is that possible? thanks
 
cmon some has to have breed fish in their sump, at the lfs i always see plecos and big fish in the sump
give me some opinions
 
ive read of ppl breeding cons in a sump ahha that proly would work and it saves space
 
ok imma give it a try, anyways my sump gets kinda dirty i dont know what it is was thinking maybe bacteria or something will the fry feed off of it? or should i try to keep it clean as possible?
