Hi, I was wondering how to breed convict cichlids in a 20 gallon tank. I was also wondering if there was anything that can eat some of the fry because I don't have enough space

Well, you can breed some younger convicts in a 20. Eventually a large male would probably kill the female in such an enclosed space. I've bred small ones in as small as a 12 gallon tank. They are super easy, pretty much need a male and female, and water.
You could try some danios for fry-eaters. Hopefully they would be quick enough to avoid the convicts.

get a boy and a girl mature, add water, filtration, heat, maybe a rock. ur done!
if your breeding them for something to eat your gonna need another tank, parents will defend the fry, unless it were a 200g tank and fry eating fish were much larger and nastier than the con....
ive bred convits in a piranha tank in my younger days... a percentage of the fry survived....
not sure what your end goal is here...
guppies may be better if your looking for an all in 20g with something to eat the fry...

Well, I think you need to ask some questions:
Why do I want to breed these fish? Do I like the species?
Why should the fish be super easy to breed?
I have don't have any problems with guppies or convicts but fish that are slightly harder are much more rewarding IMHO> The fry will be easier to sell as well.
If you want to breed a cichlid or want the fry to grow up with the parents I suggest apistos.

okay. I might go to the pet store today. If they have apistogrammas i will get them. If them have convicts i might get them
Hold up, do some research first. Just because someone tells you something on the internet don't mean it's true. Just search up apistogramma care on Google. How much nitrates does your tank have? Apistos are quite nitrate sensitive.
you cant go with what every other person tells you. Fish are like people and other animals-they are ALL DIFFERENT...u have to go w ur own experience i have 4 convicts in a 20 gallon and 2 of them breed and i have 13 of the tiny fish from the fry swimming in the 20 gallon and the babies are bout the size of my pinky nail. they are getting along well-altho Finnnie and Hydra do get very protective as long as the other 2 are not trying to harm there babies there good. Now i have a friend that have 1 breeding pair in a 20 gallon and they breed constantly and the constantly eat there babies-u see its all different but my friend only feed there fish every other day and 1 feeding at that so there prolly hungry lol but yea advice is GREAT but in the end u have to learn how ur fish are and what THEY prefer. My phots are pretty blurry but here are some of the babies in the 20 gallon and the 4 convicts are just swimming around hard to get them together bc like i said they do there own thing lol
