hi i was just wondering, i have a 55 gallon tank with hood, filters, heater etc with 3 convicts, 2 jewels and plenty of hiding spots. would it be possible to add a few dither fish or something to make the tank more exciting. I've been doing my research and have not found anything i am looking for. please help? even maybe a few yoyo loaches or corys. thanks.

I wouldn't add the loaches or Cory's the cons would more than likely shred them. If you wanted a schooling fish you could try tiger barbs would add some more activity

Go for a bumble bee catfish! it's going to predate on the con's babies also to keep the population low.
It's pretty docile also, but aggressive on night when it's active, having cons and red jewels which puts up a fight will tame and make your catfish know it's place not to meddle with them so don't worry on aggression issues. They can be converted to daytime feeding schedules as time flows by.

Try something in the upper half of the water column. Small fish that won't occupy territories on the bottom.

Maybe some tetras or livebearers/platies.

I'm a fan of the tiger barb idea... I just added a group of 5x tigers and 5x green tigers to my Blue Acara breeding tank to spice things up, so far besides the smallest green (which I should have known better than to add) they are doing good (1 week).
