Convict cichlid male or female??

Was hoping for a pair the pet store told me i got a male n female when they netted them for me. So i got duped..got 2 females despite the apparent differences,

Stop being confused. Long dorsal in cichlids do not mean 100% male.

Ill just dispose of the one in question. Totally did not want 2 females. I do not drive and my nearest petstore is 45 mins away. Fml. Thanks for the help

Dam it. Was hoping for a pair. My other fish is 10000% female tho as half its belly is pink. The one in question just has a few small dots of pink

When she goes into breeding dress that belly will light right up.

Thanks...she was a little pink / black accident. I grabbed 2 juvies to grow out and they spawned within a week. I can't complain about the outcome. Almost every female ended up like this. The start of all the madness...lol

Yeah I feel like they are some of the most underrated fish. There are some really beautiful convicts out there.
