i have 2 convicts in a 29 gal tank, just wondering if anyone knew how fast they'll take to fully grow

I dunno about growing rate, but I'm pretty sure they usually go up to 4-5in.

Guess growing rate would be based on what you feed/how often you feed it :D

Mine took less than a year. females probably wont reach 4", 4"-5" for male some will get bigger but not in a 29.

It took over 5 years for my male to reach 6''. He is 10 years old and hasn't gotten any bigger. He has been in a 55g most of his life. He eats blood worm cubes, and pellets. On occasion he has eaten algae wafers. Females will never reach that size.

So... you bought him when he was 5 years old at a mystery size, and then took another 5 years to grow to 6 in...?:screwy:

How did you get that from what he said?:screwy:

Id say from what he posted, hes had it 10 yrs...it took the first 5 yrs to grow six inches and hasnt grown anymore in the other 5.

and by the way convicts are so slowwwwww in growth maybe 1-3 inchs a year imo for males, for females forget it 1 inch a year until 3-4 inchs and then they stop growing.however i have seen a 7 inch convict once he was very old but pretty big for a convict
