None of your business!
Ok, I was wondering who would win in a fight a 6 inch male convict or a 6 inch male firemouth?? I may plan to buy some different cichlid for my duaghter, she told me she want's a mean, strong, and easy to care for cichlid?? So who do you think would win?? Also if there's any other choices for mean fish?? thank you!!

a convict would tottaly beat a fm

Depends on the individual fish. Convicts probably better build for the fight, firemouths are generally more show but usually it is enough show to back down most fish.

Why do you want to fight fish anyhow? Seems like this would be the least effective way to pic out a fish for your daughter?

convict males can be tough, but the females are the worst. A 3 inch female (in full health) would easily destroy the firemouth. A few years ago I was looking for a male for my favorite fish: a convict female. The first one I tried, she did not particularly like, so withing an hour he was floting at the top of the tank. I was unfortunetly not looking at the time, so I couldn't save him.

Another time, I had a young pair of convicts keep two full grown oscars (easily 4 times larger than the male) in the corner of the tank. Do not underestimate convicts.

WHY DO YOU THINK THEY ARE CALLED CONVICTS AND FIREMOUTHS ARE CALLED FIREMOUTHS.

convicts are down and dirty and firemouths are all talk

I thought it was cause they spit fire!! :x just go to youtube and see the 4million videos of convicts kicking tail and you might find 2 of Fm's doing anything but flaring and running away

CONVICT > Firemouth (any day of the week). Especially the male convicts, they're brutes.
