Hey guys, just wanted to share some pics of my convicts, I've never seen them with colors so bright before and the male is starting to get a lump on his head, does this mean anything, thanksImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1362962796.247155.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1362962804.163481.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1362962813.296749.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1362962823.780022.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1362962829.213421.jpg

You're gonna have babies soon. Better get ready.

They always seem to be fighting, will any convict pair up with another? They don't really show any signs of it, all the male does is chase the female around occasionally. Would any other fish in the tank with them stop them from mating? I have a baby 4 line in there who minds his own business and a little jaguar who chases them around, who will soon be in a bigger tank

I don't think adding another fish will keep them from breeding. If you don't have a pleco already that could possibly help get rid of the eggs. That's the only thing I can think of.

That male looks great! Seems like he has potential to be quite bulky and thick.

IMO, the female does not look like she is ready to breed. Her colors look normal. If you want them to breed, try doing a 30% cold water change and adding in another smaller male convict cichlid as a dither.

Sorry but what's a dither, I've seen it before but don't know what it means
