Convict cichlids

When fish have bright colors its a sign of that they aren't stress or not hungry. When colors show it shows that they are well taken care of.
Sorry to dig this thread up but it was in the same tank as the convicts, will it breed with them?

Yes they are of the same genus and are very closely related witch is why convicts and the four other convict like cichlids often get confused for each other.

Yeah it's hard to tell the differences. I didn't even know there where five convict like cichlids (including convicts) till I started to research them. They are commonly cross bred so you never know witch type you could be getting.
