wanna breed my own feeders. convicts or guppies? pros and cons of each please

thank you,

vil

no its not wrong.lots of people do it.get about a 55 gallon.pot alos of caves plants and pots and have 83 degree temp.put 3 pair of cons it there.they will spawn about 1 to 2 times a month per pair.then get about a 20 or 30 and use that as a grow out tank.hope this helps

i got a 29 gallon to work w/. and i can get a 10 as a growout.

i was thinking housing only a couple of pair and using their offspring as occasional treats to supplement pellets.

I tried it and cons do breed like crazy BUT most of my fish won't touch them. I don't know why but I think its the shape. I also had a baby pbass die from choking on one that decided to expand its dorsal fins

A 29 will do just fine:)

I do not know anything about guppies:) SOrry.. My opinion there as they never get big enough to feed my fish not even as floss:)

I prefer cons and other fast growing fish to feed my fish :)

I a 29g you should only house one pair. Males grow up to 6" and females 4". They are also highly aggresive and the two pairs will not only fight but kill eatchother's young or eat their eggs.
