convict idea

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
it means doing it with a close relative whether it be an aunt, uncle, father, mother, sister, cousin, or brother.
The offspring that is conceived via inbreeding often has mental/physical retardation.
lol.

Keep one or a pair. Don't keep anymore cons than that in a 10gal. It's too small. You need to stop buying fish until you get your 55. Until you get the 55, research the fish that will live healthy lives in that size tank. That could mean one or two fish or several small fish. Oh, and inbreeding is when closely related animals breed, like mother and son, brother and sister....things like that. Cons have no problem with that but over a few generations you end up with so poorly deformed offspring.

i had them since 9-4-09 so i dont want to lose them but i want to keep 2 pairs with a divider

seriously mate your tank is far to small for that wait untill you get your 55 then have your 2 pair with a divider, i have one con pair in a 20g and i feel guilty enough about that!

better yet. get a 55 and divide it 3 times ( of course with filters in each section ) and have 3 pairs. just dont make the same mistake i did when i had two 10s and a crap tone of convicts. and know i have a 5 foot with 3 convicts ( black male pink femle black female ) so just keep a pair ( small small pair )

If you have had those convicts for almost a year and they all still fit in a 10gal. then something is wrong. They are overcrowded. They should be much bigger by now. Keep a pair and leave things alone until you get the 55. A divider in a 10 gal for two pairs of year-old convicts will not solve the problem. Please lose some fish.
