Today at the LFS I picked up two fish that I thought were an adult pair of convict cichlids. The manager that checked me out told me that they aren't actually convict cichlids, theyre something different. They have a blue look to them and are quite nice looking:naughty:. I don't know what they are, but I am told they are still a breeding pair. the smaller one (f) doesnt show any orange or coloration of a female convict. they follow eachother around like a pair, but i just can't figure out what they are. If anyone knows what my fish are i'd really appreciate the help!

thanks a lot

sorry for the blurriness, the water hasn't settled and I had to use my iphone!

The male does have some reddish orange on his bottom fin, which is becoming brighter as time goes by. I looked at the pictures or the red points and they just look blue with some red during breeding time. well, whether they're convict or honduran red point, i have two large fish that are definitely paired up. I'll post again when they breed!

thanks a lot!

its a type of Honduran red point one type the male is very blue and its body shape is unlike a convict and the other has a light blue under belly and like like a dwarf convict and they are mean if not meaner they are little monster for sure i wish i had the names of them but theres not much info out there on them yet there rare in the hobby still and watch out the ones you have breed like rabbits

They look like plain convicts. Sometimes lighting makes certain colors stand out more.
