i like the stand and canopy too

it looks like he has a swim bladder issue. i wouldnt say just outright put him down... try researching your issue first as i do not know of any remedy off the top of my head

agreed swim bladder is not right. If he is still doing it, he is going to get hurt swimming into the gravel. Might be time to take him out behind the shed.

I personally have only put down a beat up con once because my male ripped her fins off while i was sleeping she was at the top floating half dead and finless

he got attacked very very badly before you got him put him in a bucket and clove oil the poor thing its not your fault right? He was probably used as a dither and got his swim bladder hit hard...again the humane thing is to CLOVE NOT OLIVE oil him in a bucket so he will pass painlessly he is messed up bad to a very severe level as far as i can tell.but i am not there again humanly put it down and i wouldnt doubt it if that oscar has grabbed it

I got him like this. Im just trying to figure out whats wrong with him and if he will recover. My oscar and all the other fish in the tank leave him alone, he just sits in the corner and does nothing. Im going to give this thread a little before i do the clove oil.
Also i though clove oil only put the fish to sleep, then you had to add a hard liquor or something

Firstly, move the fish into a smaller tank, a baby bath or bucket - something that can be thrown away or easily cleaned.
Put 3 drops with a half pint of water and shake very well, so the oil and water make a fusion - otherwise the oil will just float on top of the water and for the euthanasia to work the fish has to get the oil into its system.
Add the mixture to the water that the fish is in (1 gallon of water should be more than enough) and stir it around slowly with your hand. The fish should become lethargic and sleepy.
Add another mixture of 2 to 3 drops of oil in water. When the fish goes "belly up" it is asleep - not dead.
Then add 3 more drops of clove oil. The fish feels nothing, it is very peaceful and humane. It seems mad that a few drops of something can have such an effect, but it IS very strong. Don't make the mistake of thinking that if you initially put more in it will act quicker - it will only freak the fish out - it has to be done gradually so the fish doesn't notice the change in the water.
The whole proceedure should take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. You will know when the fish is completely dead because there will be absolutely no movement of the gills. If after an hour the fishes gills are still moving you could add a couple more drops of clove oil. Sometimes it does depend on the size of the fish to how many drops of clove oil are needed.

proper euthanasia ive used this before on my con as stated above...You are gonna get the same answer about it being swim bladder problem and un curable.Good luck and im really sorry about the situation

why would you buy a fish that was acting like that in the first place

good question...it was probaly free
