I've seen mine chew up food for their fry and spit it out in the past. I thought this was normal Con behaviour. I also used a mix of BBS, (some live,some frozen) and Tetramin Baby. I'd feed them direct using a syringe with a length of airline hose on the end. Suck the food into the plastic syringe and, using the tubing, squirt it directly at the fry in the tank. Parents use to attack the tubing a bit, but the fry all got a good feed! Very controllable way of feeding as well. Much less wastage than just droppin it in the tank.
