Convict spawn

Well I finally have gotten one pair of my convicts to spawn. I moved them into my 20 high a few days ago and today I came home and checked on them and saw a pit dug and a clay pot with eggs. Now I have a question say I were to remove the parents and replace them with another pair of convicts do you think they will eat the offspring or the eggs. Or could they spawn in there also without touching the eggs

if you remove the parents a new set of cons will eat the eggs or fry that hatch, they don't care about others fry..little wiggling things that are not there's are just snacks.

why do you want to swap them out for another pare?.
 
Well I want to have the other pair spawn. So I can see what kind of offspring the produce. I noticed that both of my pink seem to carry the recessive marble gene or from what I have read they have it and I want to have marble convicts. My lfs told me if I was to spawn marble convicts they would purchase then from me.

ahh well how about let the spawn you have hatch.


and get the other pare to spawn and add them together..just make sure they dont eat each other, my pare when they spawn if i leave any of the last batch they eat the wigglers as the parents move them.

so basically YES ..they will eat the eggs or fry.
 
Okay well I will let them hatch and grow them out a little then I guess I'll have I get my 20 long from my friend and transfer all the fry into that tank

if your pressed for space put a divider in the tank so the other pair can spawn in that tank but not be able to eat the other fry
