Convict Tankmates?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Personally I would go with just the convicts, thier very protective of thier fry, unpredictable even, and will attack fish much larger than itself to protect them.

i have a pair of convicts
with a Ck, tiger barbs, pleco, and an electric blue. they all are doing fine. i have had them like this for a year now. no conflict wat so ever.thats if your not planning to breed, if you are then by themselves in a 30g or larger

Thanks for all the advice. For now I think I will keep them alone in the 29. Maybe down the road if I'm not trying to breed them I'll see about a tankmate or 2.

If you can find a way to make convicts stop spawning, you'll be a very wealthy man.

Is it really that easy? How can one tell if the pair will mate? My 2 little ones seem inseperable. Also is a flower pot necessary? I have a few caves for them to hide in. Will this be sufficient?

Thanks

a wise man once said "to breed convicts you need a tank and 2 convicts. add water if necessary"

any surface is good enough for them. the caves should be enough
