whats wrong with a candian saying "ya'll"? lol. And not all cons kill everything in their path. Sure they'll attack especially when breeding but as with all fsh it depends on their temperment . I mean jonclark96 said it works for him. In 90 gal my JD is at the botom of the pecking order behind a FM,Con and severum. The JD is bigger than all of them....

They will if the tank is small ie 25 gallon tank.

As for the "ya'll" thing.. I was born and raised in Texas and I still don't use that word. My buds say it all the time but I stick to "you guys" lol. Thought it was a Southern thing is all.

School of tiger barbs or giant danios both worked out fine when I had my breeding cons

[QUOTE \u003d babarian16; 5277919] yall Hey.

Get rid of swords, leave the breeding alone to themselves......

It really depends on individual fish and what they will tolerate. Good chance you will only have a breeding pair left in the tank when all is said and done. Have a 10g or so on stand by if the male gets too much for the female. Separate her out if need be. Be prepared to have a few tanks for fry. I've had cons spawn in a bucket before I can get them in a tank before. They are quite prolific.

SO i decided to change up the tank abit by switching it to a slighty more natural look and also got rid of every fish other than my cons and 3 cories. As soon as i made the changes the male con seemed less agressive toward the female and now they're actually swimming together. I wouldn't say they've paired up, but the female definitely isn't hiding in corners and at the top of the aqurium anymore. The cons and cories keep to their own mostly. They even eat together when i throw in an algae wafer.

Any ideas on if the cons might be beginning to pair up or how long it might take? Any signs to look for other than eggs and fry?
Thanks.
