Convict+ ?

Hi so i was curious as to the likely hood of a convict successfully spawning with a jaguar, texas or Green Terror (gold saum) cichlid?
Ive been slowly feeding my convicts from another tank to my jag and am finally down to some of the larger 3"ish males..

So usually the jag which is a female spends hours trying to catch and eat them but this time the convicts are freely swimmming and in breeding colors..? what is the likely hood of them hybridizing or is this just my jag being lazy and eventually getting around to eating them

also i am unsure of the sex of the texas or terror and neither are large enough to eat a 3" convict

I've heard of Convicts breeding with quite a few different fish actually. It's possible.

I had a female con try to mate with my 7 " GT. There was some mutual courtship and she laid eggs but he never followed through.

I guess she was too short to get on the ride.

Cons will try to breed with anything so it's possible. It could happen. I have a con that bred with something but I don't know what. You should have some interesting fry if they do.

yeah.. the jaguar was just being lazy. she did eventually go into heat while one was still alive but i found it with its head bitten off about 3 days ago

of the fish you mentioned, convict + texas is a no-brainer . . . had it happen in my tank, so I know it's possible

I have a green texas X convict female. She is in the tank with her father the GT and constantly laying eggs however, (luckily) he wants nothing to do with her eggs so she always ends up eatting them in the end. Very beautiful fish. Fiesty as hell!!
