Convicts gender id

Ulu those look like a couple males. I never seen a convict that hid from anything. They are one of my favorite fish even tho they dont get really big. They are so boisterous and usually have great personalities. I have a very young male thats not even 3/4 inch and he tries to chase my 3.5" JD and texas 3" away. Both the JD and Texas are pretty aggressive already and he doesnt care.

They held their own against some larger Africans (all rescued together) until the breeding started, and then they started getting slaughtered.

Right now they're timid because I chased them down with a net and tossed them into a new tank. They'll get over it in a few days.

I'm thinking Chips looks a bit more Female, but I know zip about convicts.

Is this one of those trade names that covers sixteen different common-to-rare fish?

With the new pics showing the color on the sides better the one with the red spots is a female.
