I gave 2 baby cons to my little cousins. They bred in a 10 gallon. :grinyes: water rats....

A friend of mine has a couple pairs of convicts and they breed like rabbits just be careful who you feed them to because she fed a couple to her clown knife and one got stuck in his mouth because of the pointy dorsal fin.

funny you should mention that, i am feeding them to green terrors (hopefully), is that some kind of taboo. am i making an ass of myself feeding cichlids to cichlids? should i use mollies?

fry are great to use as feeders, and if they are freshly hatched (looking like lil tadpoles), you have nothing to worry about as far as fin spines. My cons breed constantly and my Midas eats like a king. Throw 6-12 in with your GT's at a time and watch the hunting hijinx...The more clever of the fry might last a day or two, but should be eventually swallowed.

its like the discovery channel only better

yeah bud, its funny..
I feed my Midas a very varied diet, and when he sees the test vial full of fry, he just goes crazy...reaction wise, he obviously knows what's coming, and it seems to be his fav. snack.

Just be sure to enjoy the cons with fry for a couple of weeks the first few spawns, they are also very interesting to watch.
