Convicts - is this normal behavior?

Update:

I poured myself a stiff drink of Lambs White and coke, pulled up a chair and watched my convicts for probably close to two hours. *im not crazy, just bored*:woot:

I observed a few interesting things. Firstly I no longer think that the large male convict is an overly aggressive a**hole that deserves a good kick out the door. He's actually starting to get along with one of the females!:nilly: I watched him brushing up against the female without chasing her and the female returned the favor. Minuets later I watched as the male dug out the "nest" a little more (assuming it is a nest?) something I've never seen a fish do. Things might be finally going right. ;)

I dropped a 1mm pellet in the tank and watched as the male stared "sneaking" up on it. He swam the stopped, swim stop, swim stop, swim stop, eyed it down for a few seconds, then he charged it and *GULP* while jumping out of the water. I laughed out loud. It seemed highly inappropriate, its not like it was going anywhere.

Anyways these convicts are the first fish I've ever owned that I would classify under the "intelligent" category. Their fun to watch and I'm glad I bought them.
