Congrats! My lot are spawning at the moment too. 10 juvies from a previous bunch of 24 horny cons (who are all sold), 1 strong pair from them so far. Spawned twice in the past 2 weeks, but being first timers, I think they just ate the eggs....
Spawning in a upside down clay pot with a wedge cut out of it, buried in lava rock. I think they feel quite secure with the spawning site - just havn't got the hang of it yet! I could be wrong as I can't see into the pot, but I don't think there's any eggs left!
From what I've read on MFK, it seems that most of you guys don't get any financial return on breeding Cons.
For some reason, they're not so common here and my lfs gives me good money for them. The last lot i took in were in the 2-3" range and I got store credit - 50% of retail - £2-£3 each for the smaller ones and £3-£4 each for the larger ones. Out of 24 cons, I got about £60 I think. Not bad when you consider that's aroung $120US! Hence why i'm trying to get a solid pair out of the current group, sell the rest, then just let them do their thing and rake in the store credit!
