Convicts with O’s

Long time ago, back in the 1970s, but a friend of mine tried it and the convicts didn't last long before the Oscar killed them. But maybe Oscars were more aggressive back then vs 50 more years of domestic breeding.

To me beyond aggression.
Cons are Central Americans that prefer hard, high pH water
Oscars prefer soft, neutral to lower pH water from S America.
So to me it is a bit of a yin/yang mismatch.

Thats very true. Okay, its settled lol. I’ll keep convicts seperate. What pH do the convicts like? On google im reading 6-8 just like oscars and you guys are saying they like more hard water so what exactly is the pH? 7.5-8? I keep my o’s at 7. They seem to thrive better at 7 rather than my 6.4 tap water pH. (Replied this to lindsey on accident, i meant to reply to this)
