they will aggressively defend their eggs, yes . . . but if you keep them in the tank with the JDs and RD, you are definitely setting your tank up for heavy conflict . . . if you truly want to breed the convicts, get them into their own 20-30G tank . . .

but my red devil is only about 3 in. and my male JD is about 4 in. the female only about half the males size
