looking on any info at all on breeding convicts... know a little, on how to sex them and water qual. got 6 all under an inch, got them in a 65 community to grow them out, but i have one that is about 4inchs... and this is probly a stupid question, but i have a 1incher that i am sure is a female, can i put them together and have them breed? like i said, looking for any info at all, any secrets.... anything.

convicts are easy to breed. i dont think if you put together two that they'll pair up just like that. But since you have six theyre gonna start breaking up into pairs. The hardest part to breeding them is the waiting.
Yup a 4" con is most definitely male.. Throw the female in and chances are they'll be paired up by tomorrow morning 
very simple to sex, more or less extra coloring (f>m)and build (m>f) are dead giveaways.

Good luck man! Cons are easy to breed, theyll do it on their own. I just got 4 cons the other day, I think I have terrible luck, cause they seem like males to me.
dont be fooled. the females can usually hold their own and will even initiate fights with the male partners. they can really dominate for their size.
not that the males can't unleash either..

My cons laid eggs about a week ago and now they're all gone. She has cleared out a lot more gravel and made some holes. Did she move them???
