convicts

hahaha. well, for starters the "rt" was beat up from petsmart, so where he's at now is a million times better already. the amount of time all of us in the house spend observing our guys takes up a solid 3/4's of our day since we are almost always home. out of the 20+ fish we have in our house, a total of two have nipped fins. we must be terrible fish keepers. the male convict spent most of his time hiding, yet not once did we ever see my female attack him. in fact, every day i would ask how mine was acting. every time observing the fish there was no signs of aggression, yet the males fins didnt heal up in the total time of about 2 weeks in the tank. although, we could have just ended his "suffering" by putting him with our bigger fish (and yes, im being sarcastic)

if you wanna see a poor fish i should show you the picture of the 9 inch oscar eating my old catfish i had. poor poor fish. aggressive fish are terrible creatures!

HOLLER!

There is a difference between nipped fins which even most of our fish get now and then from a quick fight or chase, to a fish almost completely missing it fins and tail (im talking about the convict). most here have 20+ tanks and can still take a hint if a fish is hiding mauled behind a filter that hmmm maybe its time to take it out. one things is for a fish to eat another fish. its nature. fish eats fish to survive for neccessity. now when you have total control over the health of a fish when all u had to do was remove it for it to not get mauled theres a difference. the con was there for ur amusement and want to brEed him. so yea poor fish with no excuse.

oh wait, so you think the convict is missing his fins? well, i could show you another picture and low and behold, all of his fins are there. logic should come into play with the fact that when fish swim, their fins could be at an angle not showing the fin in its entire length. i assure you he is just fine and has minor nips compared to your claims of us being terrible people and him being "beat up". thank you for your concerns though!

i'll hug the s*** out of this fella and squeeze my love right into this dude. would have been a much better approach to figuring things out then automatically assuming we love watching our fish get beat up for our own amusement. im not upset, just dont appreciate snotty attitudes in an assumption that we are making our fish fight ;)

no hard feelings, in fact we all had a good laugh in our house after reading that post. just had to clear the air before being labeled as ****ty people.

People just over react here a lot. Obviously if you had a fish that was getting torn apart you would do something to fix the problem. People just judge without really thinking or asking questions since it is easier and more fun to criticize.
