Hey all!

So I finally re-homed the Peacock bass I rescued from my idiot friend who kept it in a 60g (it was 14" in his 60G and I moved it to my 125g till we found it a new home). Which means the tank is back to it's two occupants of my 7" Gulper and 11" Oscar.

Any cool ideas for a fish I can add with them? I was maybe thinking a Flowerhorn, so my wife has a "pretty" fish to look at, who also has character. What else is a solid option? I'm in Montreal, so pretty much anything other than a Snakehead is fair game.

Thanks in advance for the tips and suggestions!

You might look at Red Texas Cichlids. A much more durable hybrid than a FH.
I kept a male Red Texas for a couple of years, grew to 10 inches, but didn't fade to red. Despite having only blue pearling, he was an awsome looking fish.

i know you have an oscar already so maybe a lemon oscar? you have to be careful because the gulper cat will eat anything 8 inches or smaller, id suggest if you do wanna buy a lemon oscar buy a big one

125g with already an 11" oscar and 7" gulper ... putting a FH could decimate your current oscar. You're pretty much stuck at getting a fish that is at least as long as the oscar and won't bend easily so that the gulper can't eat it. Personally, I would call it done simply because of long term bio-load.

Just those two is the "max bio load" for a 125? Like I get it's likely not the limit, but is it that much for a 125?

I'm not arguing by any means, really just asking.
