Wow, they sound pretty good, question is how well do they work. Anion would be great for reducing phosphates and nitrates.

Just more evidence that the “doctors” are out to make a buck any way they can.
Are they selling stuff so they can give free advice, or are they giving free advice to sell stuff? And are you willing to spend 86 bucks every year to treat a 100g tank?

Far infrared is some hocus pocus that Nikkon Corp. came up with to supplement their magnet hocus pocus (they are the originator of magnetic health and wealth). Far infrared uses ceramics to reflect available far infrared wavelengths back to the source or to where the wavelengths are desired. Infrared wavelengths are part of the continuous light spectrum at the invisible part by the color red. They are on the opposite side of the spectrum from UV rays. Far infrared are within the infrared spectrum but they are those wavelengths that are farther away from the visible light wavelengths. Since they are “special” wavelengths, they lend better to the hocus pocus.

Here is the skinny on far infrared. Far infrared wavelengths are what you feel in the sun as heat. Your skin is a very good detector of infrared wavelengths. If there are no infrared wavelengths to begin with, then the ceramic media will not reflect anything. It is like taking a mirror into a completely dark room and expecting it to reflect your image.

Want more? How about the those silver ions…They are extremely toxic. Silver ions are successfully used in swimming pools to replace chlorine . Is that really what you want in your fish tanks? The only way that this media can be used in an aquarium is if there is not enough silver to do what was intended in the first place.

The “doctors” are pushing crap to separate us suckers from our money.

Calcium & Magnesium Ion
Principal Components: SiO2, Al2O3, CaO, MgO, B2O3, ZnO, Li2O, Na2O.

Far Infrared-Rays
Principal Components: SiO2, Al2O3, CaO, MgO, Fe2O3, Na2O, K2O.

Anion
Principal Components: SiO2, Al2O3, CaO, TiO2.

Silver Ion
Principal Components: SiO2, CaO, P2O5, Ag, Zn, Mg.

And the main component in all four is silicon dioxide. Great stuff...anyone want to take a stab at what that is? It is sand. Aluminium Oxide is that great stuff used in sand paper. My favorite is in the far infrared-rays crap...Fe2O3 - Ferous Oxide :D (it is rust).

Wow Chompers, hit him again with this stick !!! <grin> Someone found one of your magic buttons.

I doubt seriously that the "doctors" did the copy for the ad or even know they handle the stuff. When you consider all the other crap for sale, this is just more of the same. :chillpill:

CaO is a very stong base!

No one needs that crap. I agree that it's just something to make money off of the ignorant. Good mechanical and bio is all you ever need.
