Cool New Internal Power Filter

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks everyone... I didn't make this thread either. LOL the auto bot did haha. Well I did this awhile back cause I hate canister filters cause the hose and other stuff. This right here no hose hanging on the back just a lil room of the tank. Works great and when of needs cleaning just pull the cArbon rocks and foam. While that happens the power head is still running and that means the fish will be alright.

Jake: what part of Houston you from?

South west china town haha...

What type of fish do you have and size tank?

Nice!!!! I am planning a 75-90 gallon salt tank when i move the first of the year and am really trying to avoid any filters under the tank so i may do 2 of these and a HOB skimmer. thanks for the idea.

I have 3 tanks right now. I'm a Loachaholic, so my 20gLong is currently a grow out for my planted 40gBreeder (both in my office). I also have a 39g brackish tank full of Green Spotted Puffers & Mollies at my Fiances place. Currently I have 5) small Botia Kobutai & 4) small Clown Loaches in the 20Long, and the 40g holds 4) medium (2") Botia Kobutai & 3) Clowns about the same length, but fatter. The Loaches will all become one large shoal (hopefully) in a new 75g after christmas time.

Thats a good idea. I had a 220 in my house. I had 2 RR Box in there but it was custom made. I ran the Odyssey 550 GPH and man it worked better then my Eheim 2262. I had 3 of them in there and didnt do the job like how this internal filter. To keep the internal filter clean is turn it off while you feed your fish. So you don't waste your food. Good luck to you and post pictures when you do. Thanks!!!

Whoa you got alot of tanks.... I only have 2 and thats all what I need haha. 220 with 2 flower horns. And 100 gallon with 3 flower horns. My 2 flowerhorn in my 220 are the breeders for houston. I sell them alot in SW.

Sweet. Yea, I'm working my way up to big tanks... All my current tanks will become sumps for the big tanks. I want a 72g or 90g bow-front for my office & a 180g for the house...

Good call i hgave been thinking about this since this they came up. I think im going to make a false wall across the entire back of the tank with the water going in in the middle of the tank. first into a fine floss chamber that i can clean every week then split into 2 seprat sides with sponges on top of drip plates over pot scrubbies under that. then have a 550GPH power head on each side to pump it back out. so 1100 GPH on a 90 gallon reef?

Sounds like a good idea to me. There is only name brand tank makes that as well. I don't know which one but I seen it a few times. Keeps the water so clear for weeks cause of the flow rate. I was gonna do that to my 220 but I said it would to much work now. 1100 gph is kinda high for a 90 galllon but what type of fish are you going to use?
