I think piercing has already happened, I seem to remeber a post on another forum about goldfish having there lip pierced.

But that is cruel for sure.

I think that if you like these fish surely you should question why you have an interest in the hobby in the first place. To take on fish is not a light undertaking, its a responsibility which is surely incompatible with them just being 'pretty' showpieces!

HA Ha, when I saw that it seemed like someone tagged the poor fish. :D

That seems preety stupid since the tatoo is very crude. If biologists were to somehow manipulate the pigment of tinfoil barbs to form a natural " I luv U " then it would be all right.

I simply do not see how someone can enjoy seeing that hideous design 24/7. :(
 
I personally think it depends on the motive behind tatooing the fish. Like if those tinfoil barbs were used to propose to someone then I say it's ok. What can be more important than some guy's proposal to his fiance?
