no i dont keep one right now. i know the next project tank i have will be a tiger muskie and or a northern pike. i had a pure strain muskie but it didnt take the transition to warmer water and it died. the tiger and pike will be in a nonheated tank after seeing what happened to my pure strain. one of the nicest looking native fish i kept was some brook trout.

I can't wait to see this project!
It's not the warmer water that kills the fish but the lack of oxygen that goes along with warmer water. I'm constantly fighting this issue here in Phoenix. You should be fine in Minnesota.

ya i was more refering to my sa disply i was going to temp house the pure muskie in when i had it. it was colder when i got it and i warmed it up to fast. i have been thinking of puting a tiger muskie in with my hystrix but i am not sure of the heat. it has plenty of air but i think it may be to hot. i am thinking i will just wait until i have an availible tank to do it. i would do a garage pond for the muskie/pike setup. unheated in the garage. that is future though. then i know i will be 100% fine.

provided the muskie is kept at temps that work for it, it will tear the hystrix apart. muskellunge are not really compatible with other fishes in captivity outside of huge tanks (northern pike are similar); great pickerel are your best bet if you want to keep Esox.--
